Why Volunteer With REMA
Volunteering gives people the chance to contribute to good causes and to develop personally. It can open a pathway into work, or into new experiences and other avenues in life. Volunteering from within BME communities is also a powerful way to combat divisive narratives about minority communities.
REMA currently has 12 active volunteers supporting a range of community activities and organisations. Our work includes engaging and promoting volunteering opportunities, developing volunteers through training and peer support, advising local community organisations on volunteer policy and good practice, and coordinating volunteers to support community and civic events such as our English conversation club, family sessions and cultural celebrations.
